D.C. Day One

Here we are in the rain and cool weather. It's in the 90's in D.C.! Only 22 more hours to go!

In preparing for this years trip to D.C. I remembered the Johnson's were a half hour early so I thought I'd beat them and be an hour early! I packed my bags, stopped and got some snacks and water and made it to school before anyone else. It's raining out now but I figure that's o.k., I don't want to be fishing as bad then.

All the students got to school on time and were loaded and ready to go on time! We left as scheduled by 8:30am and about 5 minutes later I realized that I forgot the movies and water for the bus in the trunk of my car that I left open. (Thank you Ms. Bruss for going out in the rain to shut it!!) We're OK though because Jack brought "Ghost Busters" along and our bus has direct t.v. and wireless Internet!!

We were almost to Hertel before our first encounter with a crazy driver that decided to wait until we were right next to them to turn their blinker on. Kids thought it was great. After a short stop in Rice Lake to pick up our tour guide, Jessi, and some water(thanks again Ms. Bruss) we were on the road again. We stopped in Mauston to eat at McDonald's or Culvers and are on the road again watching some C.S.I. New York.
