The First Days Drive

It wouldn't be an American field trip without stopping at McDonald's a couple times!

Students seem to have survived despite filling their stomachs with grease and sugar.

Becca said that we were 45 minutes from her old house in Chicago. Darren and Sam looked in amazement.

While waiting for the bus to get fuel, the students got some Chicago culture(hot dogs and slushies!).

493 Miles from Webster, WI. It's just east of Gary, Indiana. (I had to Mapquest it because I had no idea where it was!)

Today's ride seemed to go by pretty quick! The wireless Internet, mario cart on the Nintendo, texting, and satellite television really distract a person from the length of the trip.

We've been eating healthy(Culvers, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, gas stations) and made it through a few states. We stopped outside of Chicago to switch bus drivers and to fuel up. Then we made it to Portage, Indiana for a meal and a break. Everyone seems to be in good spirits and a couple have attempted to dose off. When we got out of the bus in Chicago and Portage everyone moaned that it was hot...88 degrees and muggy! What a change from Webster this morning.

Here is what some of the students have to say about the trip so far:

Evon and Sarah:

So far we think the trip has been kind of boring. We have been having fun with our friends on the bus though!

Darren and Becca:
We ate at McDonald's twice which wasn't the most healthy but it was cheap. We're tired of sitting on the bus but are having fun at the same time.
Roxy and Emma:
The ride has been long and we haven't had to spend too much money. We're excited about seeing Washington D.C. We are tired!
Mr. Bell:
Sorry about the late post! I lost my wireless connection and had to wait until we got to the hotel to post. More to come...~Mr. Bell

  1. Looking Good. Still nice and cool here. Turned the heat on this AM. Tell the kids to have fun and represent us well.
Way to go Will. Steak for breakfast. I challenge you to have fish for breakfast next time.
